Frequently Asked Questions

Pastry Delivery in New York — The Pastry Port Experience

What is Pastry Port? +

Pastry Port is the first delivery service exclusively dedicated to high-end bakeries in New York City. We partner with elite bakeries that are not available on traditional third-party apps, preserving pastry integrity through a curated Pre-Order model — created by pastry lovers, for pastry lovers.

Why does Pastry Port use a Pre-Order model? +

Many of our partner bakeries have lines out the door daily. Managing unpredictable, on-demand delivery orders can compromise both quality and the in-store experience. The Pre-Order Package allows bakeries to:

  • Allocate a specific daily quantity exclusively for Pastry Port
  • Prepare orders with precision
  • Maintain freshness and presentation
  • Protect their in-store customers

This ensures your pastries arrive as intended — delicate, refined, and uncompromised.

What happens when a bakery sells out? +

Each bakery allocates a limited number of pastries per day for Pastry Port. Once that allocation is reached, the bakery closes for the evening for next-day delivery orders. This preserves quality and avoids overproduction. We encourage early ordering for priority selection.

What are the delivery windows? +

During our Initial Beta Trial (Pre-Order Package), delivery is scheduled for the following morning within a set window, for example:

8:30 AM – 11:30 AM (times are subject to refinement as we scale).

You select your preferred window at checkout, and we coordinate with bakery partners accordingly.

What is the Classic Package? +

The Classic Package (Coming Soon) will function similarly to traditional on-demand platforms, allowing customers to order pastries in real time. At launch, Pastry Port operates exclusively under the Pre-Order model to protect bakery capacity and quality standards.

What if my delivery is late? +

While we prioritize timeliness and careful handling, we understand delays can occur. If your pastries arrive:

  • Up to 1 hour after your selected window → you receive a credit for 50% of your order total.
  • More than 1 hour after your selected window → you receive a full refund.

Quality and trust are non-negotiable for Pastry Port.

Do I need a membership to order? +

Yes. You may browse bakeries freely, but at checkout you must select one of our membership tiers. All tiers can access any bakery — only the delivery fee changes.

What are the differences between the membership tiers? +

Commis (Tier 1)

  • Free entry-level tier
  • $6–$8 delivery fee
  • No rewards access

Sous (Tier 2)

  • $5 one-time sign-up
  • Full rewards access
  • 50% off premium delivery fee

Head (Tier 3)

  • $6.99/month subscription
  • Full rewards access
  • Free delivery on all orders
Is there a free trial for the Head tier? +

No. The Head tier is a subscription-based membership at $6.99 per month, charged at inception with no free trial.

How does the rewards program work? +

Sous and Head tier members earn 1 point for every $1 spent on orders. Points can be redeemed as:

  • 75 points → 25% off any order
  • 150 points → Free delivery
  • 200 points → Free pastry at select bakeries
  • 300 points → Priority access to premier bakeries and first-choice selections
Who has access to rewards? +

Only Sous and Head tier members have access to the rewards program. Commis tier members can still order from any bakery but do not accumulate or redeem points.

Can I edit my order after placing it? +

Yes. You may edit, adjust, or cancel your order until 11:59 PM EST on the same day the order is placed. After 11:59 PM EST, changes are not eligible for refunds, and the full amount becomes due.

Why is there an 11:59 PM cutoff for edits and cancellations? +

Pastry Port operates on a Pre-Order model. We communicate confirmed order quantities to our bakery partners in advance so they can prepare accurately and maintain quality. The cutoff ensures they have a clear view of the next morning’s production.

How do cancellations work? +

Orders cancelled before 11:59 PM EST on the same day receive a full refund. After that time, the customer is responsible for the full order amount.

Where does Pastry Port deliver? +

Pastry Port currently serves New York City. Our focus is on a curated selection of premier NYC bakeries, with thoughtful expansion considered in the future.

How does Pastry Port protect pastry quality during delivery? +

We protect pastry quality through:

  • Experienced delivery personnel dedicated exclusively to Pastry Port
  • Structured, morning delivery windows
  • Limited daily pastry allocations per bakery
  • Careful packaging and handling standards
  • A focus on thoughtful timing rather than rushed, on-demand volume

We do not rush pastries — we respect them.

Will orders eventually be routed directly to bakeries? +

Yes. As we evolve, future integrations may route customer orders directly into partner bakeries’ POS systems for even smoother fulfillment while maintaining Pastry Port’s quality standards.

Is Pastry Port a registered company? +

Yes. Pastry Port, LLC is registered with the State of New York.
